Mindful donations center on guarding the dignity of the guests in a church’s refugee and migrant program while communicating thoughtfully with your community and donors, according to Desiree Townley, who recently gave a Community of Practice sessions for coordinators who are heading projects funded by the Convocation Refugee Grant Program (CRGP) across Europe.
“Fragrance is always inviting. Fragrance reaches out, it can reach out to people who are not expecting fragrance to come,” said Fr. Vinod Victor. And being a fragrant presence in the southern German city of Freiburg is the aim of an extensive refugee outreach program developed by the Anglican Church Freiburg using a grant from the Convocation Refugee Grant Program (CRGP).
The 20s30s Ministry at the American Cathedral in Paris recently hosted their 4th annual Thanksgiving dinner, a multigenerational celebration with over 100 people.
“Friend raising” was the goal of two recent receptions hosted by the Board of Foreign Parishes (BFP) in New York City and Washington DC. “We really focused on a lot of friends – trying to cultivate and reinvigorate old relationships while making new ones,” said Del Glover, BFP board member. Receptions in the Cathedral House at St. John the Divine (NYC) and the Virginia Theological Seminary (VTS) were well-attended; both raised awareness among audiences that were either unaware there are Episcopal churches in Europe or unfamiliar with the multinational, multilingual, and multicultural makeup of the Convocation, according to Nancy Treuhold, president of the BFP.
